  • A Mornington Peninsula mansion has sold for at least $25 million.
  • It will be one of the top sales recorded on the peninsula, where the record stands at $30 million.
  • It has a pool, tennis court, soccer pitch and steam room.

A grand estate on the Mornington Peninsula complete with soccer field has sold for at least $25 million.

The 6.51 hectare block in Red Hill South set a record for the suburb, surpassing a $20 million sale nearby last year, and will be among the top prices paid on the peninsula.

The peninsula record stands at $30 million for a Sorrento clifftop mansion, sold last year but only settled in January, taking the crown from Portsea’s Ilyuka, which fetched $26 million a decade ago.

Public records show the vendor of the Red Hill South spread is a corporate entity linked to businessman Mark Healey, son of British shopping centre billionaire Eddie Healey and recent vendor of a Toorak spread for $43.1 million to Chemist Warehouse boss Sam Gance.

The buyer is Sioned Rees Thomas, according to a caveat slapped on the property this week, but no word on how the founder of Boutique Retreats plans to use the home

Agents on the deal were Forbes Global Properties’ Michael Gibson, Robert Fletcher and Ken Jacobs, as well as Marshall White’s John Bongiorno and Stephen Baster. The agents confirmed it sold within the asking price range of $25 million to $27 million but would not comment on the identities involved.

“The detail and the presentation of this property is truly international,” Mr Gibson said.

“If you put this in the Hamptons, it could be in very good company.”

Mr Bongiorno highlighted its position in a part of the peninsula where new infrastructure is being added and restaurants are opening.

“It is an incredible family estate obviously, and a beautiful position, and the quality of the detail is without peer,” he said.

Designed by Stephen Akehurst and with interiors by Sabrina Caisson, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom residence is an entertainer’s dream.

It features an infinity pool and spa, open-air terrace, a stone-finished kitchen with a scullery, a cocktail lounge, tennis court, synthetic soccer field, rose garden, children’s play equipment, spring-fed dam and a backup generator.

Converted stables on site include a pool table, steam room, X-Golf room and loft accommodation.
