A luxurious seven-bedroom mansion in Sydney's Palm Beach could break a price record.

Listed by Forbes Global Properties, the recently-designed beachfront home has expectations of around $40 million.

This would break the Sydney northern beaches record set by the sale of 167 Pacific Road in Palm Beach for $27.5 million in June.

Named Bellona, the abode has been described on the listing as "Australia's most beautiful beach house".

The breathtaking ocean views are no doubt the property's unique selling point, and the servants' quarters suggest the amount of detail that's gone into the layout and the level of luxury abounding.

Owners Margaret and Bob Rose worked alongside architect Drew Barnyak to design the entire home, which was completed in 2002.

Only three photos of the home have been provided on the listing - the property's beachfront balcony, the modern living room and the private entrance from the beach.
